Termites forage in dark areas because they will dehydrate if exposed to light. This is why they forage inside walls and mud tubes. You can see that the damaged drywall and insulation were removed from the interior wall to gain access to the wood termite damaged areas.
The carpet and padding were carefully pulled back to gain access to drill the slab floor.
The following picture shows termite damage to baseboards, sill plates, wall studs, jack studs and headers which also destroyed the insulation and drywall. The damaged wood is removed and replaced.
Our team of licensed, experienced trades’ people can assess damage due to wood destroying insects, and perform the repairs in a timely, cost-efficient manner. This is important to our clients because it means you only deal with one company.
In order to treat for termites we measure out 4-6 inches from the wall, marks are made 10-12 inches apart and then we drill. The debris from the drilling is swept away and removed.
The chemical (Termidor WG) is applied carefully to each drill hole. Termidor is a non-repellent termiticide that creates an invisible barrier between your home and the termites. Non-repellent products are not easily detected by termites, so the insects do not know to avoid the treated area.
Forager termites are the first to confront these non-repellent products, which are then shared with the rest of the colony — effectively controlling the colony’s members.
After treatment, the drill holes are re-filled with cement and the area is cleaned up.
Then we replace the insulation, install new drywall and put back padding and carpet.
On the exterior wall the ground, paver bricks were moved to gain access directly against the perimeter of the house. Soil rodding the ground every 10 inches around the perimeter of the entire property.
After rodding, the perimeter is also injected with the termiticide directly as needed. After it is injected, the pavers are put back in place.
Our advanced termite control treatment will take a single day, or less, with very little upset to your daily routine. Methods vary with each house, depending on the type of foundation or basement, construction materials, number and type of porches, patios, chimneys, etc. By digging narrow trenches along walls and drilling through horizontal surfaces and into voids, materials can be applied where they will kill termites within your home and block the colonies re-entry.
Your Termite Treatment is warranted for one year, allowing for re-treatment at no additional cost if further infestation is found.
